And our TED ED speakers have finally presented their talks!!!

We set off this year with a new challenge for secondary school students: preparing a TED talk in English. A big challenge, and just a short time on Thursdays to work together on it… But they made the most out of those meetings: they discovered their passions, they learnt how to speak in front of an audience and found the best ways to convey their feelings and interests through their oral presentations. A revealing and enriching experience we will never forget. Thank you kids, for giving us the opportunity of guiding you through this process, it has been a real pleasure for us both. We are very proud of you!!!!!

Comenzamos el año con un nuevo desafío para nuestros estudiantes de secundaria: la preparación de una charla al estilo TED en inglés. Un gran desafío, y muy poco tiempo cada jueves para trabajar juntos en él… Pero lograron sacar el máximo provecho del tiempo que pasamos juntos y en las reuniones descubrieron cuáles eran sus pasiones, aprendieron a hablar en público y encontraron las mejores maneras de transmitir sus sentimientos e ideas en sus presentaciones orales. Fue una experiencia enriquecedora y muy reveladora que no olvidaremos jamás. Gracias chicos, por darnos la oportunidad de ser sus guías durante el proceso, ha sido un verdadero placer para las dos. ¡¡¡¡Estamos muy orgullosas de ustedes!!!!

Our Ted Ed Club talks are coming soon!!

And our TED ED speakers have finally presented their talks!! They were all so enthusiastic, collaborative and ... nervous too!!! They made mistakes, they forgot some parts, they made a mess with the visuals but we all feel extremely proud of them: they worked really hard, and were very committed in everything they did! In their first experience as TED speakers, they have shown so much courage and passion that we cannot help feeling the TED ED Club has been one of the greatest experiences we had had at school!

 ¡Y finalmente nuestros oradores de TED ED Club dieron sus charlas! Mostraron tanto entusiasmo... ¡y tantos nervios también! Cometieron errores, olvidaron algunas partes de sus charlas, se confundieron pero nos sentimos sumamente orgullosos de todos ellos: trabajaron con dedicación y compromiso y, en su primera experiencia de charla TED demostraron un coraje y una pasión tan grande al expresar sus ideas en un idioma que no es su lengua madre que realmente sentimos que el TED ED Club fue una de las experiencias más enriquecedoras que hemos vivido en el colegio.

Meet & Greet Missouri TED Ed Club

Lezlie Waltz' students were ready to present their talks. It was the second time that we connected and listened to them. We loved this experience because we had the opportunity to ask and learn a lot about how to prepare our future talks. Our students really got inspired after listening to their new friends from Missouri. An awesome experience for all of us.

Los alumnos de Lezlie Waltz estaban listos para presentar sus charlas. Por segunda vez nos conectamos y los escuchamos. Nos encantó la experiencia porque tuvimos la oportunidad de preguntar y de aprender mucho acerca de cómo preparar nuestras futuras charlas. Realmente nuestros estudiantes se inspiraron después de escuchar a sus nuevos amigos de Missouri. Una experiencia emocionante para todos nosotros.

Meet & greet another Ted Ed Club

TED-Ed Clubs is a flexible, school-based program that supports students in discussing, pursuing and presenting their big ideas in the form of short TED-style talks. Schools around the world are participating.

It was a surprise for us to connect with another Ted Ed Club from Missouri, EE.UU.. Listening to Lezlie's club talking about the topics and their experiences was really awesome!!

Our kids are only getting started on their presentations so this opportunity of meeting students who have almost finished with theirs was really great. The kids asked (and answered) good questions for each other. It was an incredible experience for our kids.

Hope to meet them all again next Thursday!!!!

Ted Ed Clubs es un programa para escuelas basado en promover la discusión entre los estudiantes, apoyando la búsqueda y la presentación de sus grandes ideas en forma de conversaciones cortas, al estilo Ted.
Fue una sorpresa para nosotros conectar con otro Ted Ed Club desde Missouri, EE.UU. Escuchar al club de la Prof. Lezlie hablando de sus temas y experiencias fue realmente increíble! 
Nuestros alumnos están recién empezando con sus presentaciones por lo que tener la oportunidad de escuchar a chicos que casi han terminado con la de ellos fue realmente genial.  Hicieron buenas preguntas y respuestas unos a otros. Fue una experiencia increíble!!! 

Esperamos encontrar a todos de nuevo el próximo jueves!!

Ideas Worth Exploring & Declaring!

A few weeks ago we started getting together with those students willing to spread their ideas and share their passions. The meetings take place every Thursday, early in the morning, and in these first meetings we focused on choosing the topic we would like to talk about in our TED-like presentation. We shared ideas, videos, drawings and anecdotes on the topics they are passionate about. At every meeting the children get the chance to express themselves and learn to listen and value those things that are important for the others as well. A brand new experience which will prove to be incredibly enriching for all those involved. Let’s make the most of it!

Hace ya algunas semanas comenzamos a reunirnos en la primera hora de los jueves con los alumnos de secundaria interesados en difundir sus ideas y compartir aquello que los apasiona. En estos primeros encuentros nos enfocamos en definir sobre qué nos gustaría hablar en nuestra charla estilo TED, y compartimos ideas, videos, dibujos y anécdotas sobre los temas que los apasionan.

En cada reunión los chicos tienen la oportunidad de expresarse, pero además de aprender a escuchar y valorar aquello que es importante para sus compañeros.
Una experiencia nueva que promete ser muy enriquecedora para todos los que nos animamos a formar parte de ella. ¡A disfrutarla!
